It has been three years since my school friends and I embarked on the tradition of climbing Dighi Hills during weekends and holidays. We initiated this activity during the lockdown, and it has continued ever since. Initially, in the lockdown phase, we covered the 8-kilometer distance from town to the hills on bicycles. However, things have changed over the past year. Presently, none of us has our bicycle in proper condition to ride. The transition from bicycles to bikes has been a noteworthy shift in our routine.
Throughout this period, the experience has been consistently enjoyable, with the only challenging aspect being the early wake-up calls at 5 am and the subsequent task of rallying everyone together through phone calls. Our friend Swaraj would always keep us waiting in the cold mornings; he maintained this habit and continues to be consistently late. Meanwhile, true to form, Swaraj also remains persistently late at waking up even to this day.
